Description
These beef-stuffed shells combine tender pasta shells filled with a creamy ricotta and seasoned ground beef mixture, baked in rich marinara sauce for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
20 jumbo pasta shells
1 lb ground beef
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
2 cups marinara sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, diced
1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
3. In a skillet, cook ground beef with garlic and onion over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
4. Add Italian herbs, salt, and pepper; stir to combine.
5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, half of mozzarella, Parmesan, and egg.
6. Fold cooked beef into the cheese mixture.
7. Spread half of the marinara sauce in a baking dish.
8. Stuff each shell with the beef-ricotta mixture and arrange in the dish.
9. Pour remaining marinara sauce over shells.
10. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
11. Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes.
12. Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes until cheese bubbles and browns slightly.
13. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
Notes
Use fresh herbs for extra flavor.
Drain pasta well to avoid watery filling.
Serve with a side salad or garlic bread.
