Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound chicken sausage, sliced
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup orzo pasta
2 1/2 cups chicken broth
2 cups broccoli florets
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Optional: red pepper flakes for heat
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Add sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned.
3. Stir in chopped onion and garlic; sauté for 2 minutes.
4. Add orzo and toast for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
5. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
6. Stir in broccoli and oregano. Cover and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
7. Once orzo is tender and most liquid is absorbed, stir in Parmesan.
8. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
9. Serve hot straight from the pan.
