Description
Crispy Beef and Cheese Chimichangas deliver a golden, crunchy shell filled with seasoned ground beef, melty cheese, and bold Tex-Mex flavor.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup salsa
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
6 large flour tortillas
Oil for frying or brushing
Optional toppings: sour cream, guacamole, chopped cilantro
Instructions
1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned.
2. Add onion and garlic; cook until soft.
3. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
4. Add salsa and simmer for 5 minutes.
5. Remove from heat and mix in shredded cheese.
6. Spoon filling into center of each tortilla; fold in sides and roll tightly.
7. Brush each chimichanga with oil or spray with cooking spray.
8. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes OR bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15-20 minutes, turning halfway.
9. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Use pre-cooked shredded chicken for a variation.
Add jalapeños for heat.
Make ahead and freeze before baking or air frying.
