Pot Baked Potatoes deliver fluffy, tender interiors and crisp skins every time. This simple, foolproof method ensures perfectly baked potatoes in the oven.
Ingredients
4 large russet potatoes
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Optional toppings: butter, sour cream, chives, shredded cheese, bacon bits
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. Scrub potatoes clean and pat dry.
3. Prick each potato several times with a fork.
4. Rub potatoes with olive oil, then sprinkle with kosher salt and pepper.
5. Place potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet.
6. Bake for 45-60 minutes, until skins are crispy and a fork easily pierces the flesh.
7. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before slicing open and adding desired toppings.
Notes
For extra crispy skins, brush potatoes with additional olive oil halfway through baking.
Use a fork or skewer to test doneness.
